Hi! Peter and Tracy. That’s us. We met in San Miguel de Allende while studying Spanish a few years ago and entered a mixed-culture marriage: Australian/American. The language barrier aside, things are working out pretty well as long as we don’t play Scrabble.
A crazy idea popped one winter Saturday while watching back-to-back episodes of House Hunters International. We wondered if we could travel for what we spent to stay at home. I checked our budget spreadsheets. It looked unlikely. We decided to try it anyway. And thus was born our credo: Why Stay Home If You Can Roam?
So far we have been on the road for 10 months. We’ve tried house-sitting. Cruising. AirBnB. Staying with friends. Bed & Breakfasts. Budget hotels. Guess what! We are still traveling within our budget. Actually, we spent MORE just staying home. (Too many chips?)
Anyway, you might be wondering WHY are we telling you all of this? The short answer is that we want to let you know that you too may be able to travel within your means. Or buy a taco truck. Or open your own bait shop. Or achieve whatever dream you are dreaming now.
Just have a good time. Let’s face it…we aren’t getting any younger.
We value your input. Share any ideas you have. Make suggestions. Send contributions: cash or credit. Offers of accommodation are always welcome too. Hope to see you around!
